Cottrell Ambassador x Starlyte Fairy Footsteps
Imported 1995 Chestnet Section B Welsh Stallion
12'3' hands
Telynau Flight of Fancy is an outstanding individual
with impeccable bloodlines. He has a wonderful temperment,
looks and movement, all of which he passes on to his
babies. Many of his offspring are just beginning their
careers in the show ring and are on their way to becoming
top competitors. Special thanks to Wendy Marston of
Salvandi Stud for allowing us to aquire Flight. We are
thrilled to have him as part of the family. Flight is
approved by the Welsh Pony & Cob Society for AI.

A little more about Telynau Flight of Fancy
In 2004 we felt so lucky to have acquired Flight for our
breeding program. With Flight's main duties as a stallion,
we did not consider him a performance prospect. We just loved
watching him parade around his field checking out all of the
pastures to make sure everybody was where they were supposed
to be.
But then a year after acquiring Flight, Mom, who had been
studying some of the Natural Horsemanship trainers, decided
to play with Flight. Well Flight absolutely loved the attention
and playing was right up his alley. Within three days Flight
was carrying Mom around the paddock proudly. Within a few
more days they were out and about the farm touring and investigating
trails. Both mom and Flight were having a blast.
So the next thing led to ground driving and dragging the
manure basket around. Flight just thought this was another
game. Beth and her sons Ryan and Brandan were visiting the
farm at the time, so we started dragging a plastic sled with
the boys in it behind Flight. The boys were having as much
fun as Flight, goofing off and falling out, etc. Flight took
all of this calmly and basically ignored the boys antics.
Well,
then Mom decided Flight would drive. So she got Beth involved
who had driven a lot as a teenager and they hooked Flight
to the cart. Beth drove Flight off without a foot being placed
wrong. They walked and trotted the first day out and around
the jumps. Wow was this exciting.
So now we had Flight riding and driving. Mom decided it
was time for Flight to do more than walk/trot so she asked
Beth to ride him and introduce the canter. No problem. We
took Flight with us to a couple of Welsh shows and continued
his socialization, driving and riding. We decided to enter
Flight in the Adult Welsh Hunter division with Mary to ride
him at the Ohio show. Flight had only jumped a few jumps on
a long line while playing games with Mom. When Mary asked
Flight to jump with her on him, he gave it a gallant effort.
The look on his face was soooooo unusual. It was happy, gleeful
and oh-my-gosh how do I get over this with a rider on my back.
Well after one school, we decided to show Flight in the Adult
Hunter. He quickly figured out what was being asked of him
and actually got a second place over fences. He even got all
of his lead changes.
We
entered Flight in the Stallion Parade at the Select Breeders
Sale. Mary was playing over fences the evening before the
sale and Mom was watching as usual and when someone approached
her and asked her which of Flight's babies we were riding.
Mom got all proud and answered that this was Flight himself.
Later in the summer, Mom took Flight to the National Drive
in Lexington, Ky. She was there for five days and only on
the last day when people were coming up and petting Flight
did they realize he was a stallion. Flight was a perfect gentleman
and loved driving out and around the Horse Park. Both Mom
and Flight had big grins the entire time.
Needless to say---we all love Flight. He has such an extraordinary
expression and presence, and just loves to be out and about.
With the loss of our long-time stallion Salvandi Calidog,
in 2006, Flight has been a wonderful addition to our family
and has quickly become the new main man on the farm.
